Many people, and especially those in show business, have relied on cosmetic botox injections to keep crow’s feet and forehead wrinkles at bay.
In fact, a new report came out a few years ago stating that botox clients are getting younger. A plastic surgeon in California reported that some of his botox clients, who are in show business or the modeling/acting profession, are as young as 30 years old!
The truth of the matter is that botox is effective, fast, fairly painless, fast-acting, and requires no downtime, hence the term “lunchtime facelift”… So just one caveat… .
The cost!
It’s still too expensive to maintain every three to six months for most workers like us.
But the good news is that many cosmetic companies have researchers working around the clock to find a current solution to this multi-billion dollar industry. And they are making great strides…
One of the first alternative products to botox cream was Avotone, which is still right up there in terms of effectiveness. Another is Strivectin or as some people spell it Strivectin.
They call it “better than botox” but it’s actually called Strivecten-SD, which I’m told isn’t as effective as Avotone and doesn’t contain all the ingredients that researchers have found effective.
So what is a good botox cream and how does it work?
Basically, all of these creams contain certain amino acid peptides that help to weaken the contracting muscles, thereby reducing the formation of wrinkles or folds. When these creams are applied to problem areas, they help flatten crow’s feet around the eyes and soften worry lines on the forehead.
When looking for an alternative to botox cream, make sure it contains an essential amino acid peptide called Argireline. This ingredient helps block the nerve signals that control the contraction of facial muscles.
The result is a significant reduction in both the depth and size of fine lines. The 2002 International Journal of Cosmetic Science reported that when a topical cream containing 10% argireline was applied to volunteers, reduction in wrinkle depth was up to 30% after just 30 days of treatment.
That’s pretty impressive.
The other ingredient that a botox alternative product should contain is Matrixyl.
Research showed that a cream containing only 3% Matrixyl temporarily produced “a very significant reduction in deep and moderate wrinkles” —- and deep wrinkles were reduced by an average of 68%
A newer and much more effective botox cream
There is now a new “kid on the block” and this product looks quite promising. This product contains the two ingredients mentioned above plus two more newly discovered peptides that increase the effectiveness of the product.
In addition, it contains antioxidants such as vitamin C, alpha lipoic acid and DMAE. In addition, it can be used on the entire face and throat, for total control of wrinkles on the face and neck. It’s called AlphaDermaCE.
Results are only permanent
Keep in mind that botox cream alternatives are only a temporary solution. You should always strive to help reverse skin aging by employing skin rejuvenation techniques as described on my website.
Always continue to use collagen building creams, such as copper peptides and exfoliating acids such as lactic acid or salicylic acid, to help remove old, dead skin as you rebuild new cells.
