10 ways to organize your car

We all know that between the kids, shopping, work, and the gym, it’s often a challenge to keep your car clean and in good shape. It doesn’t have to be an impossible task if you put some or all of these ideas into action.

Here are 10 things I do to keep my car clean, neat, and organized.

Cleansed

  1. I do not allow any greasy and dirty food in my car and only eat fruits that are not dirty. This rule applies to me and to other people.
  2. I do not allow anyone to smoke in my car.
  3. I also have some baby wipes in my cubicle to clean my hands of the fruit. I then use the same wet wipe to clean the steering wheel, dashboard, gear stick, etc. It’s called multitasking.
  4. To keep your car smelling good, leave a plastic bag of fabric softener under the car seat. The smell permeates the entire car and makes it smell great.

Tidy

  1. I keep some plastic bags in my cubicle so I can throw away apple cores, scraps of paper, etc. This bag leaves my car every weekend or once it’s full, whichever comes first.
  2. I also have a special plastic bag for my umbrella. There is nothing worse than the smell of a wet car from umbrellas.
  3. I keep a box in the trunk of my car so my shopping bags don’t move around. Inside the box I keep a couple of cloth shopping bags.

Organized

  1. I have a notebook and a pen in the car, mainly to write when I refuel, but also to take notes so I don’t forget anything. For example, if I’m driving and I remember something I have to do, I quickly write it down at the stoplight.
  2. When you refuel, write down the number of L, and then you can calculate when you need to refuel next time. Now, if you suddenly don’t get the same mileage, then you should have your car checked at the next service.
  3. I also like to have a magazine in the car. When I am made to wait somewhere, I can use the time constructively to catch up on my reading.
