Before I begin, I must make you understand that I don’t limit a person’s success or potential to the movement of the sun or whatever. With that said, we can proceed.
I am writing this in support of my new interest and love for the signs of the zodiac. To some extent, the zodiac signs are significant. Most of my friends are surprised that I believe in something so illogical, they say that it is not like me to do it. If you’re reading this, then you’re in the right place to understand the mystery behind my relationship with the Zodiac.
I had heard a lot about the Zodiac, especially in relation to the Temperaments and believe me, it didn’t interest me in the slightest, I’m much more of a scientist to believe in such things. A few weeks ago, I was surfing the net, I was doing research on one topic and things led me to another, the net came to the stereotypes and one of the reasons that was indicated as the cause was “… BELIEF IN ILLUSIONS LIKE ZODIAC SIGNS…”, the author went on to state that “…millions, if not billions, of people believe in the signs of the Zodiac”. He didn’t need any more compulsion. The question was, how could something so deceptive have so many believers?
I delved into the world of the zodiac, I verified the belief that the period in which a person was born determines some things about a person, basically temperament. I just smirked. I went straight to my birthday and they ‘said’ I was a Sagittarius. I started reading the attributes, and after a lot of skepticism, I knew that I had found a new ally, I tried to fight him, but no progress. How could my birthday determine anything about me? Not to mention that the proposals are that correct! In the end, I was defeated, I had become one of the followers, but it was still not illogical.
Until that time, it should be noted that he had not ascertained the origin of the belief. I thought the rules were set for everyone born within that period. The facts were too true! 100% accurate. I was not prepared for anything contradictory, I have never felt so understood in my life, if the zodiac had been human I would have declared him as my best friend (although I don’t believe in pointing out the person as the best of the many wonderful friends with whom that I have been blessed). Then I got into an argument with one of my friends, psychology is his course of study in college. He asked a series of questions, mostly questions that I had asked myself, and produced answers as well. (If he requests it, I’ll forward the conversation to his email.)
While arguing with him, a question popped into my head: “What about twins, most of the time they turn out to be totally different?” I immediately felt that he had come to his senses. I left the conversation and went back to Encarta-Microsoft Student 2009, to verify the origin of Zodiac, and all the other reasons why it had to be illogical. And most importantly, to know why it was 100% accurate about me. I will provide the result below;
Zodiac
Zodiac, imaginary belt on the celestial sphere, extending about 8° to either side of the ecliptic, the apparent path of the Sun between the stars. The width of the zodiac was originally determined to include the orbits of the Sun and Moon and of the five planets (Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn) known to ancient people. The zodiac is divided into 12 sections of 30° each, which are called the signs of the zodiac. Beginning with the vernal equinox and then moving east along the ecliptic, each of the divisions is named for the constellation lying within its boundaries in the 2nd century BCE.
The names of the zodiac signs are Aries, the Ram; Taurus, the Bull; Gemini, the Twins; Cancer, the Crab; Leo, the Lion; Virgo, the Virgin; Libra, the Balance; Scorpio, the Scorpion; Sagittarius, the Archer; Capricorn, the Goat; Aquarius, the Water Bearer; and Pisces, the Fishes. Due to the precession of the equinoxes on the ecliptic, a cycle of 26,000 years, the first point of Aries recedes about 1° in 70 years, so that the sign of Aries today is in the constellation of Pisces. In about 24,000 years, when the receding has completed the entire 360° circuit, the zodiac signs and constellations will coincide again. See Astronomy.
The signs of the zodiac are believed to have originated in Mesopotamia as early as 2000 B.C. The Greeks adopted the symbols from the Babylonians and passed them on to other ancient civilizations. The Egyptians assigned other names and symbols to the zodiacal divisions. The Chinese also adopted the division of 12, but called the signs rat, ox, tiger, hare, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, chicken, dog, and pig. Regardless, the Aztec people devised a similar system.

Then I went to also see Astrology and separate articles on the signs of the zodiac.
In the end, I was able to deduce the illogical aspect of my new ally. It wasn’t so illogical after reading about the other signs: the Sun, the Moon, the planets and the stars, and the belief that they correspond to events on earth. And by testing it on every ‘normal person’ around me, I’ve been able to prove the efficacy of Zodiac and his relatives, at least for me.
I may laugh to myself one day after reading this, but for now, I LOVE ZODIAC!
