Tips for those starting an internet marketing blog – Part 2

Do not quit your regular job:
It will take a while before your blog is up and running properly, so don’t get ahead of yourself and quit your job. You must be patient. Blogging is not a get rich quick scheme. It involves hard work and dedication. Once you’re earning a substantial amount of money and can afford to quit your regular job, you can reassess the situation. Make sure you can make a living from your internet marketing blog before you quit your full-time job.

Make sure to keep learning:
Internet marketing is constantly evolving and new techniques appear regularly. You must always stay ahead of the game and learn these new techniques to keep up with the competition. You should never think that you know all the techniques for your internet marketing blog. You should always try to improve it. If you make a mistake, learn from it, don’t let it affect your progress.

Avoid wasting time:
Unfortunately, while working on the Internet, we can easily get sidetracked. Checking Facebook, updating Twitter and watching videos on YouTube can prevent us from putting the effort into our internet marketing blog and thus leads to a lack of productivity. You need to manage your time carefully, set up a work plan and stick to it. Discipline is important if you want your internet marketing blog to be successful and generate income.

Use all the free tools that are available to you:
There are hundreds of different tools that are available to you for free, so you should make sure that you make use of them, especially if you don’t want to invest large sums of money from the start. Google offers some great tools, including their Google Webmaster Tools, which will allow you to see who is viewing your internet marketing blog. It will also help you see any issues you may not be aware of. Google Analytics plus their Keyword Tool are also incredibly useful.

Enjoy what you do:
If you don’t enjoy what you do, your blog posts will show it. People will not want to read posts that are not interesting. If your blog is about internet marketing, chances are your visitors are looking to you for inspiration. If they feel that you are missing, they are unlikely to return in the future and will not recommend your blog to others.
