The rangers need a recipe to cook at home!

The Rangers just can’t find the back of the net at home. The last two home games would only produce one goal scored and their first goal of the game would come with 10:52 remaining in the third period to tie the game at one. His first goal in 5 1/2 periods at home, that’s not acceptable.

The Rangers would eventually lose the game in Overtime in a game they could easily have won with their play had they converted on their many chances. Three posts, C. Higgins missed just in front of the net, Gaborik failed to score on a breakaway, just two many wasted chances.

Gaborik scored a goal for Rangers that would force extra time, but this was a game where they were able to use the extra point on the wild mix of teams huddled within striking distance of each other. Carolina forward R. Emery would end the Rangers’ chances of getting two points in this game when he said the game ended with a homer over the King’s shoulder with only 1:15 left in the extra session.

Carolina goalie C. Ward was clearly the best player on the ice in Saturday afternoon’s game, stopping 27 of the Rangers’ shots and being awarded the number one star of the game.

The level of frustration was high for the Rangers as they couldn’t beat Ward and kept losing their chances and it got worse when Carolina took a 1-0 lead on a Tom Kostopoulos goal with just 45 seconds left in the second half.

The Rangers were the better team, but the better team could only get one point out of the two of them. Next up for the Rangers is the Boston Bruins on Monday night again at the Garden. Let’s score a goal in the first half guys.
