Meditation is not something you do … it is the experience of Being what you are! – Terry Swejkoski

If you search the internet, you will find a variety of meditation techniques including, basic, group, activity, focused, and spiritual, to name a few. The key is to place yourself in an environment that enhances your inner peace and allows you to move into a higher state of consciousness without being distracted from your ultimate meditation purpose.

When you meditate, you bring out the best in you … the part of your deepest understanding within the Universe. Although there are many techniques, there is no right or wrong way to meditate. You should strive to do what is most comfortable and peaceful for you personally.

A popular pose that is often practiced in meditation is the lotus or half lotus, in which you sit cross-legged and your feet are placed on your thighs. In the half lotus position, only one foot is crossed on the thigh, while the other is comfortably placed on the floor. The back is straight, the hands resting on the knees, the palms up and the tips of the thumb and forefinger touching. The main intention of the lotus pose is to maximize the flow of Kundalini energy through the energy system of the chakras.

Meditation is an excellent practice for reducing stress by allowing the events of life situations to influence your peace of mind. Manifesting stress on the body is typically a fight or flight process of dealing with life, eventually causing the body to break down in some way, rather than accepting what it is and moving through life with a balanced life plan. in harmony with the Universe. Meditation affects the body the exact opposite of stress.

During meditation, the body is relaxed, the mind is silent, and the body manifests a natural state of healing. Meditation is also an excellent practice to eliminate headaches and anxiety caused by the stories we tell ourselves. As you meditate, breathing and heart rate slow down, this in turn lowers blood pressure and returns the body to its natural state of calm.

Energy flows freely; therefore, the physical position during meditation is not as important as some would have you believe. If you need to lie down to meditate, that’s fine, however keep in mind that this increases the chance of falling asleep. The main purpose of meditation is to improve peace by quieting the mind while allowing energy to flow through the body without the restrictions of life’s challenges. When the body is at peace, the immune system works at maximum efficiency and the perception of life changes considerably.
