This will be of interest not only to us fans of the Twilight series, but also to men. However, I have to warn men. Stephenie Meyer really created a character in the perfect man of our dreams, and this is something that no real man can fully achieve. But you can give yourself some ideas…
1. EDWARD CULLEN IS DANGEROUS. This potential for danger and even evil in a man can be quite exciting, if the man is very careful never to use his power against a victim. However, the fact that he has the power to defend the woman from him makes the woman feel quite safe. The fact that he has the potential to be dangerous to her excites her and keeps her on her toes. The fact that he has the potential to do evil and yet keeps it in check and is very careful instead of doing good moves a woman deeply. She will admire this man for her whole life.
2. EDWARD CULLEN CAN’T GET ENOUGH OF BELLA AND HER THOUGHTS. He wants to know everything about her, what he is thinking, why she is the way she is, what motivates her. To this end, he completely focuses on her, listening to every detail about her, asking questions, guessing what goes on inside her. Now, before you start complaining, men, be aware that this is the kind of attention women naturally give each other. It provides a very basic need in a woman, to be appreciated and approached in this way (yes, it means a lot to you to receive this kind of attention too). You don’t have to spend hours and hours listening to your woman, but if you drop what you’re doing and spend at least ten minutes every day focusing on her, her day, her thoughts and feelings, she’ll be in heaven. during the next 24 hours. She will feel that you really care, that you understand her and that you are connected with her on an emotional level. She will feel complete.
3. EDWARD’S LOVE FOR BELLA IS INTENSE AND ROMANTIC. Keep in mind that Edward doesn’t do a lot of fantastically romantic gestures for Bella. He shows her intense love for her by the way he looks at her so intently and by the words he says, “I like watching you sleep, it’s fascinating.” “You’re like my own personal brand of heroin.” “I no longer have the strength to walk away from you.” “You don’t know how long I’ve waited for you.” “Where else could I go?” These kinds of words will melt the heart of any woman, provided they are sincere, of course, that you really mean them. Men, if you can find some original way like these kind of feelings to express how much her woman means to you, she will never forget you.
4. EDWARD IS AN OLD FASHIONED GENTLEMAN. Being from the early 1900s, Edward has that ancient, chivalrous charm about him. He knows how to dance, he walks her on her arm, he opens doors, he insists that she go first. He previously introduces himself to Bella’s father and assures him that he will take care of Bella. He believes in the institution of marriage and insists on waiting until marriage to have sex (stop complaining, men reading this). Many of these old-fashioned virtues are to be treasured and are full of wisdom.
5. EDWARD IS BELLA’S PROTECTOR. I never realized how romantic this is until I discovered Twilight. But throughout the story, Edward is very protective of Bella, always wanting to know where she is (not in a weird or negative way), wanting to know when she’s coming back, wanting to know and make sure she’s safe. Like a father, he even lifts Bella up on a porch when her foot is in a cast, and puts her on top of her feet to help her slow dance. Like a perfect father would. A woman feels cared for and appreciated when a man is like this with her (again, as long as it’s not obsessively so).
6. EDWARD PUT BELLA FIRST. You are very careful to put your needs above your own wants and needs. He truly wants her to have the best, happiest, and healthiest life he can, even if it means he has to give her up forever. He is willing to sacrifice her own happiness to ensure hers. In all his actions, he is thinking of her first. This makes him a hero.
7. EDWARD HAS CLASS. You can see it in the calm and elegant way he dresses, in the fact that he likes to dance and that he likes Debussy’s music. The fact that he listens to this music reveals a quiet calm about him, someone who can take the time to be introspective and appreciate good things, like classical music. Edward also plays the piano well and knows how to compose his own music. In the Twilight books, you discover that he has taken the time to study, learn and practice many skills, such as foreign languages and a wide range of music, and that he is well read. If you look at his bedroom in the movie, you’ll also see that it’s not a pigsty. He has a lived-in feel, with lots of music and books, but he also has a beautiful streamlined simplicity.
8. EDWARD WILL NEVER, NEVER STOP LOVING BELLA. Her love for her is so intense that it is unlike anything he has ever experienced before. He waited almost 100 years before finding that love. We can tell by each of her actions, words and feelings that he will love Bella forever. He will never, he will never stop loving her or leave her (apart from New Moon) or leave her for another woman. He is so focused on Bella. Men, if you do nothing else, tell her woman regularly that you will never leave her. While you’re at it, never stop telling her how beautiful she is of hers, how much you need her, how lucky you are to have her. Then watch her inner beauty blossom.
