PS Balls Apps

Precious slag balls are widely used as abrasives for industrial applications. They are manufactured using a process that involves the atomization of liquid steel slag using a modern technology called Slag Atomizing Technology (SAT). The liquid steel slag stream is converted into spherical slag balls of various sizes by the supercooling method of molten slag, using rapid heat exchange of the liquid steel slag falling in a high speed air flow. During this process, the free CaO and Fe2O3 disperse to form a solid PS ball and therefore is produced in a stable Spinel Structure.

PS Ball Features

– They are respectful with the environment since the material does not pollute and is not toxic.

– It has a characteristic natural hardness.

– It is not toxic due to the properties caused by its structure, shape, physical and chemical compositions.

– Its Spinel structure causes stability in the physical and chemical composition, eliminating the causes of contamination.

– Compared to sand, it has superior characteristics in compressive strength, hardness and anti-weather properties.

– PS Ball is a cost effective material compared to other mineral materials.

– The efficiency of the abrasive material makes it easy to recycle, reducing the consumption rate and increasing productivity. It can be recycled up to 3-4 times depending on the hardness of the surface.

– This material is easier to produce and supply, compared to copper slag and garnet mineral abrasives.

– Storage is easy.

– Lower levels of dust and contaminants make it less hazardous for use in various field operations and less damaging to the health of operators.

PS Ball Applications

Unlike the case of mineral abrasives such as garnet, the PS ball is completely dust-free and this makes it suitable for use in surface preparation, rust removal and shipbuilding applications. It is also commonly used for boat maintenance.

PS Balls find applications in oil storage tanks, bridge construction work, in the construction of heavy steel structures, on oil rig platforms, etc. primarily for cleaning and surface preparation purposes and used to clean welded areas in storage tanks prior to repainting.

It can be used as an abrasive material, to clean material surfaces and prepare them for painting.

Typical characteristics make PS balls perfect for use in sandblasting applications as they provide the correct atomization of materials with respect to size, density, hardness, and durability.

Due to their high apparent specific gravity of 2.42 kg / l, precious slag balls are widely used as a counterweight in many applications.

The PS ball is also used as a filter medium, as it does not absorb water and is very durable.

Due to its non-slip properties, PS Balls can be used as a road surfacing or as a pavement for concrete and asphalt roads. It adheres effectively to asphalt or concrete and thus can be used as an effective repair or reinforcement material for various purposes.
