Why beginners need a ballet barre

A ballet barre is one of the most important pieces of equipment that ballet dancers can use in their training. It is often referred to in short terms as “the bar”. If you are really serious about improving your ballet dancing skills, then you cannot afford not to have a ballet barre as part of your ballerina kit. This is very important for your warm up exercises and other ballet activities.

When shopping in the market, there are several varieties of ballet barre to choose from. The most common type are those that are mounted on walls. But the standalone variety is also increasing in popularity. This is due to the fact that you can adjust the height of the independent ballet bars. Consequently, the freestanding variety is comparatively more expensive than the wall mounted ones due to that specific convenience and much more. Basically, the type of bar that you are going to use depends on your preference or what you are most comfortable using.

There is a specific ballet dance step that requires the knees to be bent in two counts. While performing this particular step, you need to keep your back straight and your shoulders posture. You can do many different variations with this specific step, and beginners should be able to overcome the challenges of keeping up with those variations.

You can use a ballet barre to practice and master this particular move because of the stability and support it offers. In some cases, certain ballet movements can last up to eight counts and it would be almost impossible to keep the knees bent for these full eight counts without the aid of a barre.

For a ballet barre to provide the support it does, especially for ballet beginners, the support must be properly attached to the barre at the most appropriate angle. It has to be mounted on the wall at a downward angle. This will also prevent the ballerina from injuring her foot when performing certain ballet movements that involve the use of a barre.

Ideally, a stand should be designed in such a way that two bars fit into one. They also shouldn’t be too close to each other because it will produce a hard spot on the surface of the barre, which is not helpful during ballet practice.

Anyone who has tried the practice of ballet knows the difficulty involved in this trade. But with the right determination and the right tools, like a ballet barre, it should be easy to master your movements for precise execution.
