It’s that moment again, and it has appeared every year for the last 44 years, The Super Bowl! The biggest sporting event in the world! This year in 2011 is Super Bowl XLV (45) The Pittsburgh Steelers vs the Green Bay Packers.
Two years ago, Super Bowl XLIII had the largest television audience in US history with a total of 151.6 million viewers, according to official national audience data from Nielsen Media Research.
Most Americans will be glued to their high definition televisions to watch or at least have an interest in the game because it will be the most popular current Sporting World event for that day. If not because of the game that people will see, but because of the high-cost ads that are running.
But the bigger question might be as your attention has drawn you to the Super Bowl is “Who is going to win?” It is good to observe and support your team if they succeed. If your team didn’t make it, you might not care so much who wins. However, at one point or another before the game starts, someone will ask you, “Who do you like?”
If you follow soccer every year, you may already have a good idea, or maybe not yet! If you have any interest in betting on the Super Bowl, then there is a solution, and it is from a man who is no longer with us. His name is Hank Stram.
Hank Stram was a well-known former head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs in the 1960s and early 1970s. Stram won three AFL championships and Super Bowl IV with the Chiefs. He also broadcast soccer for 20 years after his coaching career. Needless to say, the man knew his football. He died on July 4, 2005.
What’s interesting about Hank Stram is that he came up with a Super Bowl formula that worked wonders for predicting the winner of the Super Bowl. He has had an impeccable record that has even endured to this day. Their winning streak was 16-0-2 until the Buccaneers beat the Raiders in Super Bowl 37 in 2003. Their system proved a winner last year by narrowly siding with the Saints. Let’s explore your ideas you formed in a successful system:

Pitt 10 If team has won the Super Bowl in the last 3 years.
* 8 If an opponent goes to their first Super Bowl.
Pitt 8 to the team that allows less defensive rush.
Pitt 7 gives the team the most offensive rush.
Pitt 7 awards the team with the best overall record.
Pitt 5 to the team with def. More low. average rush per carry.
Pitt 4 gives 4 pts. to the team with the best ATS record.
GBy4 to the team with the higher NET penalty yards.
Pitt 4 to the team with the best TD NET returns from kick kicks.
Pitt 3.5 team with the best yards per pass attempt.
Pitt 3.5 for the team that yielded the fewest points.
Pitt 3.5 allowed the fewest TDs on the ground.
Pitt 3 awards 3 points to the team with the most sacks.
Pitt 2.5 team with the fewest number of offensive pass attempts.
GBy2 team with the best NET clearances (total) of the season.
Pitt 1.5 adds to the team with the best average. per off. rush.
GBy1 adds 1 to the team with the best completion percentage.

At the time of this writing, on January 27, 2011, the Green Bay Packers are the 2.5 points. Favourite.
That is, by betting standards, Green Bay would have to win by 3 points in order to collect a bet based on a “Against The Spread” (ATS) bet. You can still bet them to win Straight Up (SU) without losing points. However, betting on the favorite yields a slightly lower return for your money.
