What is the next stage of interactive web media? Online radio could be the answer

Streaming audio and video really turns heads on the web, according to leading internet marketers. Google seems to agree. The search engine is rumored to give higher rankings to sites with video content.

The spoken word is also powerful. It’s the best way to get messages across, but media content on the web often needs to be delivered quickly. Content creators have to work hard to quickly create a report with the visitor. As we’ve seen with social media like Facebook, selling a product or service shouldn’t always be done as a hard sell. In fact, that’s internet suicide for your business if you approach social media in this well.

Radio as a medium, including online radio stations, works well because it builds a relationship with listeners. It takes time if done right. A good presenter will now know how to relate to his audience and will become a friend.

BBC

A talented presenter working for the BBC had listeners ask him how his construction work was going. I used to have to update them every night. So what if you could establish such a relationship with your visitors and your customers? Wouldn’t that be powerful? It won’t take long to convert your loyal new visitors into customers.

Like some stores, you may have your own internal online radio stations. How cool would that be. You could offer tips and advice, maybe some advice, and most importantly a sales pitch or two. You would not need to set up a radio station online. Instead, you could work alongside existing online radio stations, many of them run by volunteers who would be too keen to broadcast to a wider audience than you would provide through your visitors.

With your website, consider interactive media and building rapport by working with online radio stations.
