How I Safely Lost 149 Pounds In 6 Months And Why It Didn’t Come Back

People often can’t believe that I used to weigh 346 pounds, because looking at me now, a skinny guy, they can’t see how that is possible. What’s more, you can’t believe it was only 12 months ago when I weighed 346 pounds. Once the shock has subsided, they wonder how safe it was to lose half my body weight in 8 months. “Really safe,” I tell them. “I did my research.”

Weight loss can be really dangerous and people know it. So when I finally decided that enough was enough, and that I was going to lose weight once and for all, I knew I had to be very careful because I certainly didn’t want to do more harm than good. The other main point I had was that I did not want a diet that would lose weight in the short term, but over time that fat would reappear.

Most fast diets work by eliminating some food groups, causing a large drop in calorie intake. Then your body adapts. You realize you’re eating fewer calories, so you do the sensible thing: you start burning fewer calories. Fearing that your man will starve completely (your body doesn’t know any better!), Decide to convert as many calories as possible into fat.

I looked for a better way. I wanted to find continuous and safe weight loss without stopping the consumption of an entire food group. What I found is called a calorie shift. What you do is rotate your diet so that you eat all the food groups. The result is that your body loses weight without realizing that you are dieting. Because of this, you don’t convert as many calories into fat as you can, and you lose weight!
